School Partnerships
Mission:
The mission of Brooklyn Center for the Arts is to provide superior instruction in all artistic disciplines, so that residents' of the community (or Brooklyn and beyond) are able to tap into, develop, and perfect their natural gifting. Our arts program specializes in providing access to classical and contemporary art forms for a diverse range of communities. As a DOE vendor we have established partnerships with various public/charter schools across the New York City Area.Over the years we have serviced over 5,000 students, parents, and seniors. BCA provides exposure to the arts and a platform for the next generation of artists to showcase their talents.
BCA Partnership Offerings:
-BCA would be able to provide performing arts classes in your school's afterschool program (or help create an afterschool arts program in your school)
-BCA would be able to administer performing arts classes during the school day.
-BCA would be able to develop a workshop class series, where we come in 2-4 times a month to administer performing arts/education classes in the school day (ie. lecture demonstrations, performances)
-BCA is open to developing a partnership that meets the specific wants/needs of the school

We work with each partnership to develop a unique curriculum that meets the wants/needs of every school!
Class offerings/Age:
BCA Partnerships are available for all ages from early childhood through high school. Our diverse past/current partnerships include being in elementary schools with students who have never been exposed to the performing arts to students of performing arts high schools who are on track to professional arts careers.
Dance Disciplines include:
Ballet, Pointe, Men’s Ballet, Partnering, Contemporary Ballet, Modern (Horton, Graham, Limon), Jazz, Contemporary, & Tap
Hip Hop, Vogue, House, Break dance, Poppin & Wavin
Salsa, Ballroom, African dance
Music Disciplines include:
Keyboard, Drumset, Guitar, Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello)
Woodwind (Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute)
Brasswind (Trumpet, Trombone, French horn)
Vocal, Musical Theatre and Music Theory
Partnership Models
Duration: Single class, semester, or full year residencies
Format: In person, zoom (virtual), or hybrid
Teaching Artists/Artistic Staff
Our teaching artists exemplify the highest level of expertise in their artistic discipline while also having extensive experience working with students of different ages and cultural backgrounds. At Brooklyn Center for the Arts we believe in developing, nurturing, and motivating the next generation of young artists.
